Bertrand Loses out on Finals spot

National youth sprinter Leah Bertrand finished fourth in the women's 100m semi-finals and did not advance to the final of the World Athletics U-20 Championships a short while ago. Running out of lane seven in semi-final three, the Point Fortin stand out had a good start but couldn't hold it through the middle but made a good surge at the end to finish fourth.

Leah Bertrand lines up for the women's 100m semi-finals at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships.

She bettered her heats time of 11.88 seconds by .08 seconds as she ran 11.80 but it wasn't fast enough for the sprinter to advance to the final and her tournament has subsequently come to an end. Next up for Trinidad and Tobago is Shakeem Mc Kay in the men's 200m heats on Friday morning.
