JEREEM RICHARDS IS THE WORLD CHAMPION!

Coming into the 400m as the favourite, Richards outclassed his rivals to stop the clock in 45.00, smashing the Championship record! Of course, he dedicated this huge victory to his friend and teammate, the late Deon Lendore and Trinidad and Tobago’s national anthem will be played in Serbia.

In the opening rounds of the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships on Friday morning, Richards won his heat in a time of 46.69 seconds after keeping his nerves and composure when he was clipped by one of his opponents just over midway through the raced. In the semi-finals the result was the same for Richards, winning that that race as well as he comfortably cruised to 46.15 seconds.
