Jesse Williams Makes Senior Debut
Last night 20-year old Jesse Williams made his senior international debut against St Kitts and Nevis and it definitely went well for him. In his post match interview with TTFA’s media officer Shaun Fuentes, the defender gave all his praises to God and echoed how much of a dream come true it was for him being able to play with some of the players on the squad. “It was unbelievable. I’ve been with some top lads like Joevin Jones, Khaleem Hyland, Sheldon Bateau...that (was)one of my dreams and I know many youths out there dream to have to this kind of opportunity.”

He also shared a message to players his age on the possibility of representing your country and what it takes to do such. “Patience, patience and time. You see, once you believe in yourself and have the right mindset (and)the right attitude. Yes, disappointment would come at times but we need to stay grounded because the Devil has a major plan to destroy our youths (and) to take us away from the path of righteousness.”
After being eliminated from World Cup Qualifiers, Trinidad and Tobago will now prepare for the upcoming 2021 Gold Cup Qualifiers against Montserrat on July 2nd in a must win match. If the Soca Warriors wins that match, they’ll play a second match on July 6th against the winner of the Cuba/French Guiana match. Once T&T wins the second match as well, they’ll qualify for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup and will join the likes of Mexico, Curaçao and El Salvador in Group A.
