Keston Julien's Fc Sheriff Stuns Real Madrid

Today the world was stunned when a club from Moldova pulled off a shocking upset over the most successful Champions League Club, Real Madrid, on match day two of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage. Fc Sheriff, Champions League first-timers and the first club from Moldova to qualify for Europe's most prestigous club tournament, could not have asked for a better debut and than what they have shown thus far. On match day one, they stunned Shakhtar Donetsk with a 2-0 win and today, they have stunned Real Madrid with a 2-1 victory. What more pleasing that this result is that a Trinbagonian is right in the mix; Left back Keston Julien. At this point, Julien and company are showing that they are no fluke.

After picking up a not-too-serious- knock in the qualifying stages, starting left-back Keston Julien have not been starting in the UCL games as a precaution but has been starting in the Moldovan League to maintain his fitness and form. Today, he made his UEFA Champions League debut and it is one that the youth from Gasparillo will never, ever forget. T&T Sport Diary caught up with the 22-year-old to find out if he had grasped what was happening, if he believed that he had just beaten his favourite team in a UEFA Champions League game. "I don't think anyone believed we could have beaten Real Madrid or even I believed that I was going to play against Real Madrid, my favourite team" said the left back. "...but we didn't really have any stress on us because to be honest they had all the stress as they had to win... but we knew that we had to play our game and stick to our game plan and yeah, we got the victory. It was a crazy moment for me knowing that I made my Champions League debut against Real Madrid."

Fc Sheriff is currently sitting nice at the top of Group D as they remain perfect with six points from two games. Their next UCL Challenge will be on October 19th against the Italian giants, Inter Milan.
