Nicholas Paul Wins Gold In Cali

National cyclist Nicholas Paul has continued his fine form throughout 2021 as he is now the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Champion in the Men's 1 km Time trial. Paul comfortably won his heat earlier on Friday to advance to the final which was held just about seven hours later, on Friday night. Coming in as the fastest qualifier, he was the final rider on the night and had a time of 1:00.240 seconds to better if he was to claim the top spot on the podium. The strong-legged 22-year-old made no mistake and powered through his ride to stop the clock in 59.994 to take the gold medal!

Paul will ride again tomorrow in the men's Keirin and on Sunday in the men's sprint.
