Soca Flyers Lose Opener Against Mexico
Trinidad and Tobago senior men's volleyball team started off with an L at the 2021 NORCECA Senior Men's Continental Championship after losing 3-0 to Mexico tonight. The game spiked off just after 10pm (T&T time) and T&T was without its Libero Brandon Legall who supposedly encountered visa troubles and may or may not reach to the tournament at a later date.

Mexico dominated T&T in the first set, winning comfortably 25-11 and The Gideon Dickson-led men suffered the same fate for the second set as the Soca Flyers lost that one 25-13. The Mexicans didn't need more than three sets to wrap up the game as they also won the third set 25-8.
Dickson's men will head onto the court again on Thursday afternoon (2pm) to face Canada in game number two where a victory would be ideal for advancing purposes. This tournament hosts eight teams split into two groups of four, Pool A and B, in which Trinidad and Tobago is in Pool A. The top placed teams at the end of the pool play will secure tickets to the semi-final phase while teams placed in second and third will meet in the quarter-finals with the winners advancing to the medal round play. The losers in the quarter-finals will play for the 5-to-8 positions.
