Racing at the The Yanqing National Sliding Centre also known as “The Flying Snow Dragon” in Beijing, Trinidad and Tobago, who is currently ranked 29th by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, completed its first slide in a time of 1:00.81; This time was ranked 28th out of the 30 competing nations. On the second slide, T&T improved its position but not its time as it finished 27th, finishing ahead of USA, Brazil and Jamaica in a time of 1:00.89.

The 2-man squad of Axel Browne and Andre Marcano have so far tallied a total time of 2:01.70 which sees them end heat two in 27th place. The third slide is scheduled for Tuesday morning and after this ride, each country’s three rides will be tallied and the twenty fastest countries, according to their tallied time, will advance to the medal round (4th round). In this round, each country will race once and the fastest three times of the 4th round will determine first, second and third, etc.

Trinidad and Tobago will be seeking a top 20 spot on Tuesday which would be big enough of an accomplishment by many standards. Tomorrow, they’d have to race the perfect race to get into heat 4 (the finals).
