USA edges Trinidad and Tobago Junior Men's Hockey Team

On Tuesday afternoon, Trinidad and Tobago Junior Hockey team was edged out by USA 3-2 at the Junior PanAm Hockey Championships in Chile. T&T drew first blood in the 12th minute via Teague Marcano's Penalty corner but USA soon equalised and then took a one-goal lead. Just before halftime, Joel Daniel was able to level off the scores again to send both teams to their locker rooms evenly matched at 2-2.

Upon resumption of the game, it seemed that the teams would settle for a draw but USA had a trick up their sleeves which was the game's winner in the 55th minute. In more Pool A action, Trinidad and Tobago will face Argentina tomorrow at 3pm where they'll be seeking a favourable result. Earlier in the day, the women's team was ousted by Chile 11-0 and on Thursday will take part in the 5th place game. Yesterday, the junior girls also lost 15-0 to USA.

The men's team that traveled to Santiago, Chile includes Jeremy Nieves, Jacques Poon-Angeron (GK), Ghardel Elcock, Joel Daniel, Roshane Hamilton, Nicholas Whiteman, Jovan Wren, Tariq Singh, Tarell Singh (C), Ethan Reynos, David Coker, Teague Marcano (C), Caleb Guiseppi, Justin Beharry, Aidan Marcano , Malcolm Baptiste (GK) and Matthew Perriera. The team is coached by Darren Cowie.
