Youth PanAm Games Update

On Friday, Team TTO was represented at the Youth Panam Games in Cali, Colombia in the field of swimming, triathlon and cycling. Jean Marc Granderson got the ball rolling first in the men's triathlon but the twenty-year-old could only muster up a 27th place finish. Granderson finished his event in a time of 1h 11:36.00. T&T had numbers in the swimming discipline as five swimmers competed individually. Swimming in the men's 400m freestyle, Graham Chatoor and Nikoli Blackman finished fourth and seventh respectively, and advanced to the 400m freestyle B final. Chatoor touched the wall first in the B Final in a time of 4:01.39 while his fellow countryman Blackman finished second in a time of 4:08.87, to finish 9th and 10th overall. Gabriela Ann Donahue also jumped into the pool in the women's 100m breastroke, in which she finished 6th in a time of 1:17.46. On Saturday morning Donahue jumped back into the pool In the women's 200m Freestyle which she finished in 3rd place. Ornella Walker also got going as she finished 6th in the women's 200m backstroke in a time of 2:32.57. Kael Yorke represented in the men's 200m butterfly in which he finished fourth in the heats and sixth in Final B. The 4x100 freestyle men finished 8th in a time 3:34.11 while T&T Men's cycling sprint team finished fifth in the qualification round and did not advance.

Several athletes will be in action again on Saturday in swimming, cycling and canoeing.
